Arizona Child Custody Investigations

childsupportTHE CHILD’S BEST INTEREST

If your legal team is involved in divorce or paternity cases, especially with contentious issues such as child custody and child support, it is critical to have Arizona’s best investigative team at your disposal. We have vast experience and success in obtaining the information needed to clearly establish for courts what is, ultimately, in the best interest of the child. That is, after all, what it’s all about: unbiased, fact-based advocacy for any child involved in a litigation or custodial dispute.

We have extraordinary passion for these types of cases because we’re parents, too. We know from our personal experiences that the quintessential cause to fight for is a child’s. Accordingly, we work tirelessly on child custody and child support investigations and have developed a reputation for reliable, persuasive and irrefutable fact-finding in the family law community.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Because investigations of parents can sometimes reveal chronic neglect, child abuse, and/or parental drug/alcohol abuse, we approach any case involving a child with urgency. A single second is too long when a child is being neglected or abused.

That said, we also bring a steady focus and time-tested methodology to establishing all relevant facts. Thorough investigations, not only into the background of an individual, but into the circumstances and surroundings they immerse themselves in, can have dramatic results in steadfastly changing the course of a child’s life for the better.

Some cases, like divorces, find parents attempting to use the child as a pawn in a bitter litigious game. It’s not unheard of for a parent to make false accusations in order to attempt to limit the other parent’s access to the child. Our investigators can help gather evidence of proper conduct. Often, we’re able to conduct our investigations without the child being aware of the accusations and the investigation.

A SPECTRUM OF TALENTS, TECHNIQUES & APPROACHES

Myriad facts and issues attend to cases involving children. Does a parent’s history, actions and situation require supervised visitation?  What is the specific crime rate and crime statics in a surrounding neighborhood?  Is a parent’s financial situation actually what they are claiming, or are they hiding undisclosed sources of income? These cases require the widest spectrum of investigative talents, from surveillance and interviewing skills, case research and locating persons, to report writing and testifying in court, our investigators have the experience, passion and know-how to handle any case involving a child deftly and resolutely.

CONTESTED ADOPTIONS

 ONE’S BIRTHRIGHT

If you are looking to discover the identity of a child you relinquished, or to discover the birth parents that relinquished you, we can help. It’s of paramount importance, however, that you understand that certain state laws strictly forbid the opening of sealed adoption records. Some states, like Arizona (see more below), don’t strictly forbid opening sealed adoption records but expressly require a court order to open them. It’s important to remember that, in general, adoption laws were created in the best interest of the child. Obviously, this is a very delicate path to tread, but, again, we can help.

FEDERAL ADOPTION LAWS

To add to the complicated nature of discovering identities protected by sealed records, federal adoption laws are governed by people’s rights and privileges protected by the Right to Privacy Act, as well as the Freedom of Information Act. Further hurdles arise as each of these acts is administered by each individual state. Nonetheless, citizens have rights to access records contained in governmental agencies that pertain to themselves. To reiterate, we can help you maneuver through the hurdles.

RECORDS & DATABASES

We have 20 years of experience working with, and through the maze of, governmental agencies, at the local, county, state and federal level. As licensed private investigators, we know where records are located and what it takes to get access to them. We also have access to many specialized databases, available only to licensed investigators.

ARIZONA’S INTERMEDIARY PROGRAM

Along with Arizona’s requirement of a court order to open sealed adoption records, the state has a Confidential Intermediary Program, which provides a service to help facilitate contact between parties of an adoption or siblings separated as a result of a dependency action. We can help you get in contact with a Confidential Intermediary if your case fits.

WHAT IF YOU DON’T KNOW?

Many people don’t even know if their adoption records are sealed. We are eager to assist clients obtain this information. Other people learn of their adoption late in life and have very little, if any, information about it. This is another area where we can be of great assistance. From finding and tracking birth and death records, to locating people with knowledge, interviewing them and following the trail wherever in the world it may lead, our investigators have had much success.
